$125.00 per person per session - includes all materials and firings
(If you would like to sign up for an extended session of 8 or 12 weeks, the cost including materials is $125.00 for the first four weeks, $115.00 for the second four weeks and $110.00 for the third four weeks.)
Resident potter Charley Pritchard brings 20 years of production experience to this class where students will learn the basic skills of forming pottery vessels on the wheel. Students will have one-on-one instruction with the goal of directing each student towards their own personal artistic vision. No previous clay experience is necessary. New as well as continuing students are welcome. Students in this class are invited to stay after class for practice time (no instruction).

There will be two 6-week sessions.
Saturdays 9:30am - 12pm:
~ March 31st - May 5th ~
~ May 12th - June 16th ~
$150.00 per person + materials fee* 
In this class we will explore various handbuilding techniques used in the creation of ceramic objects for the home and garden. Students will learn how to manipulate clay with slab and coil building, press molding and embellish surfaces with techniques such as embossing, appliqué, carving and stamping. No previous clay experience is necessary. All skill levels are welcome as projects will be geared toward each individual's experience and interests. New and continuing students are welcome. 
*Materials Fee: $10.00 per 25# bag of clay + .50 per square inch firing charge for finished pieces.

Catherine Sherwood
Biography: MAE, Texas Tech University; BFA in ceramics and fibers from Texas State University. Catherine is a practicing artist with over 30 years of experience in clay. She has 12 years experience as an art educator in Austin, San Antonio and San Marcos.

Tuesdays 6:30pm - 8:30pm:
~ April 3rd - May 8th ~
$150.00 per person (6 weeks) + materials fee*
Turn broken tile, glass, dishes, stones and found objects into colorful mosaic creations for your home or yard. Learn modern interpretations of this ancient art form as you explore design, pattern, color and texture. You will complete one or two small projects of your choice such as a planter, stepping stone, mirror, tray or picture frame. No previous experience is necessary. 
*Materials Fee: $15.00 per person. Most materials will be provided, but students will be required to bring some of their own materials.

Kids love clay! Resident potter Charley Pritchard demonstrates handbuilding to the local Chickabees Academy Daycare Center tots. We are always happy to provide group demonstrations to local students and other organzations free of charge (by appointment).
